Wood-Destroying Insect (WDI) Inspection

$85.00

Often called a termite inspection, a WDI inspection is a visual evaluation of a building’s accessible areas for evidence of active or past infestations from wood-damaging insects.

Often referred to as a termite inspection, this is a visual evaluation of a building’s accessible areas to detect evidence of active or past infestations from insects that feed on or damage wood.

This includes termites, carpenter ants, carpenter bees, and wood-boring beetles, all of which can weaken structural components long before the damage becomes visible to the eye.

Our inspector examines crawl spaces, basements, attics, foundation walls, sill plates, and other accessible framing, looking for mud tubes, frass, damaged or hollowed wood, and signs of previous treatment.

In New Jersey, WDI inspections are routinely required by mortgage lenders, especially for FHA, VA, and USDA loans, to safeguard real estate investments in moderate-to-heavy termite zones.

Whether a lender requires it or not, the report gives buyers, sellers, and homeowners a clear, documented picture of the property’s condition before major financial decisions are made.
