Welcome to Selective Home Inspections (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing this website or purchasing any service through it, you (“Client,” “you,” or “your”) agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use this website or purchase our services.
2. Services Offered
Selective Home Inspections provides visual, non-invasive inspection services, including but not limited to Wood-Destroying Insect (WDI) Inspections, Mold Assessments (Air and Surface), General Pest Inspections, and Thermal Imaging, as described on our Services page. Pricing listed on this website is subject to change without notice and does not constitute a binding offer until an inspection is scheduled and confirmed.
3. Scheduling and Payment
Services may be purchased and scheduled directly through this website. Full or partial payment may be required at the time of booking, as indicated during checkout. All prices are listed in U.S. dollars. By submitting payment, you authorize Selective Home Inspections to charge the selected payment method for the service(s) selected.
4. Cancellations and Rescheduling
Clients may cancel or reschedule an inspection by contacting us at least [24/48] hours prior to the scheduled appointment. Cancellations made with less notice may be subject to a cancellation fee. Refund eligibility, if any, will be determined based on timing of cancellation and work already performed.
5. Nature of Inspections — Limitations
All inspections performed by Selective Home Inspections are visual and non-invasive in nature, limited to reasonably accessible areas of the property at the time of inspection. Our inspections:
Are not exhaustive, technically exhaustive, or engineering evaluations
Do not guarantee the future absence of infestation, mold growth, or structural issues
Reflect conditions observed only at the specific date and time of inspection
Are not a substitute for inspections by other licensed professionals where applicable (e.g., structural engineers, licensed mold remediation contractors)
Specific to our services: our General Pest Inspection does not include evaluation for bed bugs.
6. No Warranty or Guarantee
Inspection reports and findings are provided “as is” based on conditions visible and accessible at the time of inspection. Selective Home Inspections makes no warranty, express or implied, regarding the future condition of the property or the absence of defects, pests, mold, or other conditions not identified during the inspection.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Selective Home Inspections’ total liability arising from any inspection or service shall not exceed the amount paid by the Client for that specific service. In no event shall Selective Home Inspections be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of our services or this website.
8. Website Use
You agree to use this website only for lawful purposes. You may not attempt to interfere with the website’s functionality, security, or the data of other users.
9. Intellectual Property
All content on this website, including text, graphics, logos, and reports, is the property of Selective Home Inspections and may not be reproduced or distributed without written permission.
10. Governing Law
These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be resolved in the courts of [County], New Jersey.
